Truro Cathedral Cornwall

The establishment of the Truro Cathedral was made possible by the vision of Edward White Benson who was the first Bishop of Truro from 1877 - 1883. Cornwall had its own Bishop at St Germans until the later part of the 10th century. After three decades of intense lobbying, the Diocese of Cornwall was re-established at Truro. The coverage of the Diocese includes the whole of Cornwall, the Isles of Scilly and two parishes in Devon.
Take a trip around the Truro Cathedral and be awed by the impressive building which dates back to the 18th century. The Cathedral Restaurant and Coffee Shop found towards the back of the Truro Cathedral building deserves a stopover for you to sample wholesome meals prepared for you at sensible prices. You can try hot meals, sandwiches, homemade cake or just a cup of tea. As an added service, Truro Cathedral also caters for special events for any group, but this is subject to prior arrangement to check for time and place availability.
Don’t go home without bringing home a piece of the Truro Cathedral with you as a souvenir. The Cathedral Shop offers you a chance to browse for music, cathedral gifts, books, CDs and other items depicting Cornwall’s colorful history and culture. An online shop is also available where you can add to your shopping cart choir and music from the world famous Father Willis organ, Cathedral Guide books, Bibles and best sellers, famous paintings and others.
Truro Cathedral is open Monday to Friday 10:00am to 3:30pm every day, and from 10:00am to 2:00pm on Saturdays. Visit Truro Cathedral Office at St Mary's Street, Truro or call telephone number 01872 276782.
