Lavinia Cottage

Tucked away beside a tranquil courtyard only yards from the seafront in the beautiful harbour village of St Mawes, this historic cottage has been totally refurbished by the Owner. Full of character & history, yet with a complete range of modern equipment, this cottage is very conveniently placed, yet in a peaceful location. The large exterior courtyard is a little sun trap and has been specially designed by award winning landscape designers "Mor Design" of Falmouth. It is surfaced with beautiful slate & cobbles and is the most delightful and peaceful place to sit and enjoy.

The cottage was probably originally a fisherman's cottage and is thought to be at least 500 years old and constructed around a similar time to St Mawes Castle. The ground floor beamed ceiling is quite low so taller guests will need to watch their heads! The open plan living area is superbly presented with great use of light colours to bring a lovely warm feeling to the cottage, yet retaining all the character of the building. There is a modern, fully fitted kitchen and a lower area with 2 large comfortable sofas on which to relax. The single bedroom is off the ground floor hallway and benefits from an en-suite shower room. The main double bedroom and large bathroom are at first floor level, making this an ideal large cottage for a couple or perfect for 3. The bedrooms and bathroom do have blinds over the windows (not shown in the photos).

Facilities & Services
Heating to the cottage is via underfloor heating. The kitchen has an electric oven, microwave, slimline dishwasher & fridge with freezer compartment. There is a flatscreen digital TV with DVD player and stereo in the lounge. There is a foot spa available to ease sore feet after a long walk! There is an iron & ironing board.

Miscellaneous
Electricity, heating & bed linen are included, but you need to bring your own towels. Parking is available either on the quay or the main car park or on the seafront in the evenings or out of season. We regret no dogs are permitted. There is STRICTLY NO SMOKING PERMITTED ANYWHERE ON THE PROPERTY. There is a travel cot and high chair available upon request. Please be aware that Lavinia Cottage has its own private courtyard, but is surrounded by other properties including another cottage above.
