St Mawes Castle
History says that the St Mawes Castle was built by Henry VIII, in 1535, as defence against the invading French. Till date, this military castle remains a magnificent masterpiece of Tudor architecture. The castle comprises of three towering circular bastions, and numerous gun ports strategically-placed to cover every direction of anticipated attack. You can go up the central tower, and explore its intriguing interiors.
Youll marvel at the elaborate decorations, the intricate designs and the wondrous wood carvings of cherubs, monks, Tudor roses and fleur-de-lis. And the sweeping panorama of surrounding regions will take your breath away...

St Antony Lighthouse
A short ferry-trip from the charming St Mawes village, will take you to the St Antony Lighthouse. Built in 1835, this impressive lighthouse has saved many a vessel from the cruel rock-line of Manacles Socks. During the two World Wars, this lighthouse played an important role in army training and testing. Youll have an interesting time exploring around this historic lighthouse.
