The Tate Gallery St Ives

Opened in 1993, the Tate Gallery St Ives houses a spectacular display of art works, collection of paintings, sculptures and ceramics associated with Cornwall. The gallery is managed by the Tate and owned by the Cornwall County Council.
The gallery is one family-friendly destination. Various events are conducted including activity packs and interactive talks to see to it that the children can be entertained. There are workshops, talks, films and events held throughout the year to keep all members of the family occupied.
St Ives Tate building is an attraction by itself, overlooking Porthmeor Beach. It is one excellent destination especially if you are a lover of modern painting and sculpture. The gallery showcases excellent works depicting Cornwall done by several famous artists. However, anybody can visit even if you are not an artist or an art lover. You can come out educated in the history of Cornwall through the different art works.
If you want to relax after a tour of the gallery, must-not-miss feature of the Tate Gallery is the St Ives Tate Café, the restaurant that sits on the roof and offering guests a fantastic view of St Ives Bay and Godrevy Lighthouse. Here, delicious food and drink sourced from Cornish suppliers are being prepared for guests to taste.
Facilities at the Tate Gallery St Ives include an education studio, a gift shop, limited parking adjacent to the St Ives Tate, parent and baby rooms, baby changing facilities and a lift to all floors.
