The Harbour and The Beach
The pretty town of Penzance has been a popular harbour for tin miners of yore. Today, you can enjoy a delightful boat-ride, take a ferry to the Isles of Scilly and even do a spot of quiet fishing!
A little away from the harbour is Penzances lovely sandy beach – Mounts Bay Beach. This beach, also called Marazion, is an interesting granite and shingle beach. The sand is hard, and it is backed by huge protective walls of granite. Youll have a wonderful time walking along its peaceful stretch and observing its unusual composition.

Lescudjack Castle

St. Antonys Church
Penzance, or Pen Sans, is Cornish for Holy Headland. This sunny sea-side town derived this name from the ancient chapel which stood at the heart of this region. This chapel, named after St. Antony, was a famous religious spot and appeared in many historic manuscripts. Today, you wont see much of this old chapel, but you can enjoy the beauty and fresh air of the St. Antony Gardens, which sits quietly in the courtyard.
