More features soon to be added to ourcornwall

We've just completed the addition of a couple more features that will hopefully prove useful, namely- a late availability section, news page, and rss feeds. Tourism sites that act as a static directory seem rather dull to us, so here at Sticky Web we're conjuring up a few ideas that should make the site a bit more interesting and fun but still retain the usefulness of a holiday resource.

We've decided that its our advertisers and visitors that should decide what this site becomes and we welcome all comments good or bad and any fresh ideas on what we could do. It is after all here to serve the business's in Cornwall and the visitors they attract.

Search engine rankings and visitor stats are dull, but they are important, and so far we're quite happy with the progress being made. We are now on page three on google (for 'cornwall') and our traffic trends are increasing nicely. There's a saying about statistics "Statistics: The only science that enables different experts using the same figures to draw different conclusions" this rings very true in the internet world as well. Every statistics package will give vastly different numbers. Webalizer and AWstats are the two most popular with google analytics being a javascript based package. All three gave wildly different figures when we tried them out on a different site, webalizer was particularly generous with its numbers! If you have a website, don't just take our word for it, give it a go and see the differences. Most webhosts will be able to provide the first two, and google analytics just involves adding some code.
Anyway its for this reason we tend to concentrate on trends and conversions.... if we sold anything which we dont on this site.

And yes, we didn't want to add the ugly google adds either but they're a necessary evil for the moment! They will be removed at some stage and replaced with a rather unique form of adverting that should be much easier on the eye and a bit of fun. We certainly wont be plastering the site with horrible flashing ads offering mobile phones and cheap flights. Remember we set this site up to help promote Sticky Web, our conventional web design business - advertising was never planned to play a big part.
Oh and business listings will always be free!
