A 25 Million Pound Resort Planned For Cornwall
This resort will be the first of its kind in Cornwall. It is to be an artificial surf wave pool along with many other resort amenities. The large project also includes 138 holiday lodges, conference facilities, sport facilities and 100 surf pods spas.
The plan proposed by the Queenwood Group was slated to be rejected because the application for development did not contain the right environmental information. The report issued by the planning committee states that the developers have not proven that the site belongs in the rural community where it is planned to be built. It is believed that a site of this size and magnitude should be located in a town center. It is possible to locate the project in the community where it is intended if the developers can show that they will not cause any harm to the environment and that another site that would be more appropriate is not available. The developers report showed no such information.
The planned proposal would also include a bar, shops, restaurant, children’s play area, and a climbing wall. Local sources are planned for the materials that are used in the site to keep the project as environmentally friendly as possible. They also plan to use solar energy and geothermal energy. However, those plans are not enough to satisfy the planning commission and the project will have to be reworked if it is to meet with approval.
The resort and spas would be exclusive to guests of the spa, but developers plan to come up with a plan for memberships for local residents to use the facilities. The large project could be very beneficial for the community, but they will have to work a little harder on the details before it will be approved. The Queenwood Group has not made their plans for change public yet.
