Sharon and Peter welcome you to the Earl of Chatham, which is a beautful 16th Century Inn. Set just over the river Fowey, in the idylic historic town of Lostwithiel, our location is ideal for business or pleasure, with major attractions and towns all within easy reach.
Lostwithiel has plenty to offer, with an array of fine antiques shops, arts and crafts, superb dining, hill strolls, open countryside, the river Fowey, Lanhydrock House and Lostwithiel Golf and Country Club.
The Eden Project, Fowey, Bodmin and some of the southwests finest beaches are all within a 6 mile radius. Truro, Newquay, Looe, Plymouth, Wadebridge, Padstow and Rock are all easily reached with a 45 minutes drive. Transport links are good, Lostwithiel train station is on the Paddington to Penzance line and is a few minutes stroll away, giving you the opportunity to explore many of Cornwalls towns, beaches and tourist attractions.
There are also a number of buses which service LostwithielThe Earl of Chatham is a traditonal Inn, with lots of character. We boast real ales (Cask Marque), traditional home-cooked food, prepared to the highest standard and a warm friendly atmosphere. Our open wood burner, bare limestone walls and friendly locals all add to the character and make for an exceptional cozy night in.
We have a large south facing beer garden, with plenty of seating, 2 fully heated smoking shelters and car-parking for upto 25 vehicles Our guest rooms have all recently been refurbished and all but 1 are En-suite. However, exclusive use of a newly installed stunning extra large bathroom which comprises bath, seperate shower cubicle, toilet, wash basin and closet is provided, directly opposite the room.
Accommodation is provided on a bed and breakfast basis which is freshly prepared each morning.In the main we source our produce locally from within the town, and can cater for any special dietry requirements - we aim to give you a truly Cornish welcomeSharon, Peter and all the team look forward to serving you soon.
Directions:
The Earl of Chatham is located just off the A390 and is well sign-posted. From Plymouth follow the A38 to Dobwalls, then pick up the A390 following signs for St.Austell.
The Earl of Chatham is signposted next to the sign Welcoming you to Lostwithiel. From the A30 pick up signs for Lostwithiel, continue on the A390 through Lostwithiel, go over the River Fowey and the Earl of Chatham is signposted approximately 800yrds on your right
