Carnglaze Caverns

arnglaze Caverns is made up of three man-made caverns near the village of St Neot, Liskeard, Cornwall. The three impressive underground caverns, located at St. Neot near Liskeard are noted for their size and splendor and have continued to rake in a big number of tourists each year.
A guided tour of the Carnglaze Caverns lasts for about 45 minutes, allowing visitors to go about 150 meters deep into the hillside and 60 meters below the ground. The main cavern was turned into a unique Rum Store chamber where a refreshment area equipped with a vending machines providing snacks and hot and cold drinks is available. Picnic areas in the gardens can also be used by visitors.
The Rum Store was used by the Royal Navy during the World War 11 to store its supply of rum but it was converted into an 400-seater auditorium in 2001. It was a unique venue for acoustics because of the shape and height of the cavern. Other features of the Carnglaze Caverns include a free car park that can accommodate a huge number of cars, a fully licensed bar which fills in drinks and snack orders during concerts and events. It is impressive to imagine that all the three caverns were done by hand over a hundred years ago, a work of art and creativity that spells the efforts of those who worked to carve the caverns.
Group tours and coach parties are welcome at the Carnglaze caverns but be sure you have made advanced bookings before going to the place.
