Open Gorseth

The annual Open Gorseth will be performed this year on Barbican Sports Field, or in the Looe Community School, if weather does not permit proceedings in the open. New bards will get their chance to compete and win prizes and awards. The Bards will be robed and will form a circle near The Rock.

There will be a ceremony of peace following calling to the four corners of the nation. Sheilas School of Dancing will put up a dance, followed up by the Lady of Cornwall presenting flowers to the Grand Bard. This is followed by the ceremony of the Sword, and a singing of Land of Our Fathers by the Bards. The Cry of Peace will conclude the event.
