Dee and Dave Brotherton along with Mike Erza appear for the Roseland Festival 2008 on a night titled With the Beatles A Magical Mystery Tour. They will perform music which is set to make up a night full of great entertainment. The music will be acoustic, and will be accompanied by relevant anecdotes to make sure the crowd enjoys every second of the performance. This event is followed by a free event at The Royal Standard in Gerrans, Cornwall, The Belfast Busker, at 9 in the evening.

This is your chance to make a trip to China Clay Workings. The trip will be made via bus. The first stop will be at St. Mawes at 9:30 in the morning, followed by a stop at Trewithian at 9:40, RuanHighLanes at 9:45 and the last stop will be at Tregony at 9:50. The tour will be led by Ivor Bowditch. Booking is essential for the event. It will be a learning experience for everyone, so taking your children along and letting them see how stuff works on their own is a good way to start your day.

Roseland Festival 2008 includes an afternoon trip on Sunday, October 26th on the River Fal. It is this river that plays an important part in demarcating Roseland and isolating it from the rest of Cornwall. It is a beautiful sight from the waters, with castles and gardens lying near the banks. The trip will be very scenic, and will surely provide eye candy to all nature lovers. The trip is made with the help of Newmans Cruises, a company run by a family for decades thriving on business based on the river.

Roseland Festival 2008 brings back the harp and flute duo of Camilla Pay and Eliza Marshall to Cornwall. Formerly known as the Arion Duo, Pay and Marshall are performing as Willow this year. It is certain that the applause of November 2006 in the Roseland Music Society will be repeated this year as these beautiful girls entertain us through an evening of gay and colourful music. Limited seats are available for this event where wine smoked salmon and cheese will be served to the audience, so make sure you hurry and book your tickets soon.

Here is another one of the many guided walks that will take place during the Roseland Festival 2008. Monday mornings walk is with Alan January. The walk, which goes on for an hour, will take place at St. Antony Headland. The guide will talk about the ammunition store, barracks and the bird hide of Roseland. It is an educative and fun way to start Monday morning, while maintaining the festivity Roseland shines with during the festival. Booking tickets is essential if you want to participate. The young group of these four very gifted musicians hailing from Truro College with a degree in the jazz course is going to perform for Cornwall in one of the better Jazz nights of the festival. Inspired by very skillful tutors, these young musicians will perform modern jazz music as well as compositions by Miles Davis, John Coltrane, Sonny Rollins and the likes. They will also perform original compositions. Called The Pete Ibbetson Quartet, they have assured and reassured the world that the future of Jazz is not dwindling.

Every day, for three days, she will hold drawing sessions from 10 am to 12 noon. Drawing will be done in many different media. This will be followed by painting sessions in different media from 2 pm to 4 pm. Booking is essential for the event.

It is at Tregony this Tuesday that one of the most eagerly awaited events of the Roseland Festival will take place. The Roseland Poets gather to render Vogon poetry shameful! On a serious note, the beauty of words, the humour in anecdotes and the emotions in lyrics are going to be recounted again in Tregony as our very own local poets gather to entertain the crowd through a night of mixed emotions. If you have never been lucky enough to witness this event, do not let go of your chance to catch up with them this time.

Atlantis will make for a night of marine exploration and understanding. Dr. Miles Hoskin will introduce Luc Besson’s classic film Atlantis, which features no dialogues, and tells the story of underwater living creatures and non-living factors. Subtitled A World Beyond Worlds, the film has been highly acclaimed by critics all over the world and its beautiful portrayal of the marine world has been said to be as captivating as the most famous poetry ever written.

The Cornwall Fiddle Orchestra will make the Portscatho Hall echo with laughter, applause and cheers this Friday as they perform for the Roseland Festival 2008.
