A 21 stringed harp-like instrument indigenous to Africa, the kora is the life and lifeline of Doudou Cissoko. Hailing from a family of well-known musicians, Cissoko continues the family tradition with a difference. He blends the Western with the African to realize music which is calming, essentially beautiful and likeable to every ear. His performances, with the intelligence of his voice, are marked by an elevating experience for the listeners, and the performance this Saturday will be no different for any and every music lover in Cornwall.
