The Henry-Lloyd Falmouth week is set to take place in Falmouth from August 9th to 16th. On the 9th will take place Falmouth Bay Events Square Live 2008. Last years Bay Events Square Live was a huge success with the Bunnymen and The Jam and Echo headlining the acts, accompanied by Bluetones and the Badly Drawn Boy.

Pirate FM will bring them back, along with great new sensations this year. They are going to broadcast from the Events Square for the whole of Henry-Lloyd Falmouth week. The doors open at 7:30 pm on Saturday. Cornwall is sure to have a busy time having fun!

Monday in Cornwall on the Falmouth Week Events Square will be the '90s act. Get your fancy dresses ready, for there will be prizes for the best fancy dress on Monday. The music is sure to get you in the groove with a tribute act to Oasis performing all classics by the popular band, including Cigarettes and Alcohol and Wonderwall.

I would expect a whole bunch of Noel Gallaghers this year vying for the fancy dress prize! The doors for the event open at 7:30 pm. The tickets will cost you £11 in advance and £12.50 at the door.

The Pendennis Super yacht Race crews and Falmouth Week crews will be able to lie back and enjoy Cornwall's cover band Shameless perform their best hits from Kaiser Chiefs to the Snow Patrol and Killers.

Fowey Regatta and Carnival week is always very popular due to the superb atmosphere, yacht racing, the red arrows fly by, and hopefully the sunny weather! Organised by the Royal Fowey Yacht club and Gallants Sailing Club, the event will have various yacht and dinghy racing, Falmouth working boats racing, fireworks, and the spectacular red arrows fly by finishing the week with a fireworks display.

Fowey week is highly regarded in the south west and attracts a good many people and this year it will lead onto the Polruan regatta on the 25th of august

St Piran Singers will be performing light and hearty music in the Riverside Church this Monday evening. The singers sing all the popular tunes of the decade, from Westlife to Queen to Les Miserables, as well as tracks based on Cornwall and its traditions. Yes, these are the same singers who performed at the International Celtic Congress last year, bringing fame to both Looe, where they are located, and to Cornwall. The widely known accompanist Liz Sidebottom performs with the singers, making their music ever so appealing to young and old alike.

Playwright Pauline Shepherds play has been adapted into a feature film Dressing Granite thanks to Cornwall Film and director Bill Scott. The film is an inspiring story which traces the consequences following the loss of a dear parent and a struggle to put it behind while learning the lessons every stage of life has to teach us. Every one who has ever been a father and every boy who has been a son will be moved by the delicate relationship of a father and son portrayed in the film. The film was made and is set entirely in Cornwall.

Cornwall Wildlife Trust hosts a day for spreading awareness about Looe's wildlife and marine activity. The event includes touch tanks, art and crafts on marine themes and face paintings. The event will most likely take place on the Seafront, East Looe. However, if it rains, the event venue will shift to RNLI boathouse.

This event is a part of Cornwall Wildlife Trust's project Discovering the Wonders of Looe's Marine Heritage. Entry to the event is free, but donations to the project will be highly appreciated. It is a disabled friendly event, and starts at 12 noon on Tuesday.

On Tuesday morning will take place a tour of the beautiful valley of Tamar, village of Calstock and surroundings and Cotehele. Accompanied by experts to recount the past and present of each location, the tour will start with a trip to Plymouth to travel from the picturesque Tamar Valley Railway Line. The train will take them to Calstock where visitors can choose to explore art galleries, the Calstock Quay, the recently discovered Roman Fort and to look at the Calstock Parish archive which recounts the stories and legends associated with Calstock.

Subtitled the Secret Smuggler, Tressa tells the story of a girl who is fighting convention to be accepted as a part of the professional smuggling business. The historical village of Polperro, most famous for its smuggling and fishing ventures, is the background for this highly interesting plot. The story of this local girl is told through a beautiful language that of dancing. The performance will take place at the Performance Marquee.

Cornwall Wildlife Trust presents Rockpool Ramble. Marine experts will tell you about the wonders of waters when there is low water at 2.56 pm on Wednesday. The event is free and requires no prior booking. Children below the age of 16 need to have an adult accompanying them. The organisers have requested everyone interested to be dressed modestly, and wear sturdy footwear, which are likely to get wet. Participants should gather outside the Coastguard Hut. Forthwall Theatre Company, in association with Sterts, presents psychological thriller Strangers on a Train. Based on Patricia Highsmith’s novel, the play evolves when two strangers plagued by family woes meet on a train. It is then that young Bruno suggests killing Guy’s wife in return for the murder of his own father. Not taking young blood seriously, Guy moves on, with little knowledge that their paths would meet again. The play is directed by Peter Dann and moves with a fast and heart throbbing pace.

The only tour to Looe Island during Dehwelans Looe takes place on Friday, September 5. The tourists will be accompanied by Sir John Trelawney and Mary Philip. Mary Philip’s family traces direct lines back to the smuggling family of Looe Island that prevailed during the 18th and 19th centuries AD. The island is managed by the Cornwall Wildlife Trust, today. The tour can be called off depending on weather and sea conditions.

This is a disabled friendly event. It starts from Lifeboat Station, Looe at 10 in the morning. The tickets are priced at £7.50 for all.

The Trelawne Manor, seat of the Trelawny family for over four centuries, has become a famous tourist spot in Cornwall. Bard Carole Vivian will trace the history of the mansion built before 1450s, the vivid family history of the Trelawnys, the medieval architecture of the Manor as well as architectural additions of the Victorian style later in the years. Following the tour of the Manor will be a tour to the house’s farm, the Trelawne Barton, and all the splendid gardens it boasts off. This will conclude with Cornish cream tea.

This twelve hour long festival is in hope of raising money for young cancer victims, a cause which Tanyas Courage Charity Supporting Young People with Cancer fights for. Groups like Wire Daisies, Hitchcock Rules, Grey Maybe, Tongue & Groove, Ammunition, Terra Nova, The Reels, Beaver Patrol, The Belfast Buster, Tony King and the TK Connection, Devils Creek and The Sycamores have been confirmed to sing so far. The event provides a bar which is open all day long. Food is available too, and Barbecue is on the menu!

The event starts with Orchestra of the Swan performing Mozart’s Symphony No. 40 in G Minor. Orchestra of the Swan are famous for reproducing masterpieces of our age with brilliance, zest and a great presentation. Orchestra of the Swan and the Wessex Concert Orchestra collaborate with Errolyn Wallen’s highly original Speed Dating for Two Orchestras. Wallen won the BBC Radio 3 British Composers Award in 2005. The Frog Princess is a heartwarming story for the entire Cornwall to smile to. Ivan is forced to marry a frog, who he discovers is a beautiful princess under an evil spell. He tries to release her from the spell, which backfires, and she is lost in another part of the world. Brave Ivan tries to find her and win her back. The performance by Wild Wood Theatre has an earthy touch and an emotional musical score with it. Families can opt to take part in a workshop and create puppets from the story to be featured during the performance.

Andy Secombe, the humorous novelist from South Wales comes to Cornwall for the Roseland Festival 2008 for an evening full of laughter and smiles. He will talk about his muses, all the people who helped and influenced him and his writings. He will also speak about his new book, Looking for Mr. Piggy-Wig. A thriller centered about investigator Jack Lindsay, Looking for Mr. Piggy-Wig traces an international conspiracy involving smuggling of ammunition, assassination of politicians and burger outlets. It will certainly be one of the lighter evenings to look forward to.

This is your chance to make a trip to China Clay Workings. The trip will be made via bus. The first stop will be at St. Mawes at 9:30 in the morning, followed by a stop at Trewithian at 9:40, RuanHighLanes at 9:45 and the last stop will be at Tregony at 9:50. The tour will be led by Ivor Bowditch. Booking is essential for the event. It will be a learning experience for everyone, so taking your children along and letting them see how stuff works on their own is a good way to start your day.

Roseland Festival 2008 includes an afternoon trip on Sunday, October 26th on the River Fal. It is this river that plays an important part in demarcating Roseland and isolating it from the rest of Cornwall. It is a beautiful sight from the waters, with castles and gardens lying near the banks. The trip will be very scenic, and will surely provide eye candy to all nature lovers. The trip is made with the help of Newmans Cruises, a company run by a family for decades thriving on business based on the river.

Roseland Festival 2008 brings back the harp and flute duo of Camilla Pay and Eliza Marshall to Cornwall. Formerly known as the Arion Duo, Pay and Marshall are performing as Willow this year. It is certain that the applause of November 2006 in the Roseland Music Society will be repeated this year as these beautiful girls entertain us through an evening of gay and colourful music. Here is another one of the many guided walks that will take place during the Roseland Festival 2008. Monday mornings walk is with Alan January. The walk, which goes on for an hour, will take place at St. Antony Headland. The guide will talk about the ammunition store, barracks and the bird hide of Roseland.
