Its one of the more quirkier events on the Cornish Calender, but a charm to watch all the same. Normally theres a good turn out of St Ives residents, visitors, and others from around the Area. The 'hurling' also takes place in St Columb on Shrove Tuesday.

It isn't Much Ado About Nothing when I tell you that The Festival Players Theatre Company is going to adopt an all-male cast for one of Shakespeare's brilliant plays that features the most challenging female protagonist, Beatrice. Yes, that's right. Coming to Cornwall on the very first day of July is Much Ado About Nothing. The play has songs written by Johnny Coppin, the great folk musician.

Jack Cassidy is sure to do justice to his role in the play, and we sure hope to catch you there at Boconnoc when the gates open at 6 pm to see Jack together.

Cornwall will witness Gala Dance Evenings with the stars of BBC TV's Strictly Come Dancing this July. The popular couple of Darren Bennett and Lilia Kopylova will set the floors of Tregenna Castle Hostel, St. Ives, on fire with moves to the tune of Samba, Paso Doble and Cha Cha Cha.

You can dance, get autographs from the couple and get to hear the inside gossip of Strictly Come Dancing through the question and answer session that will be held besides the dancing.

St Micheal's Mount is sure to be the destination for all of Cornwall on 20th July as music hits the beautiful place from 11 am to 5 pm. The music includes everything from rock to swing, and your kids are sure to stay pleased with a lot of entertainment aimed at them. There will be numerous stalls displaying crafts and local gift items.

The entry is free, too! The event will be held in and around the village and harbour. Though they do say weather can affect the possibility of the event being rescheduled or canceled, do make sure your Sunday is free for the event.

The great melodrama of William Shakespeare's plays returns to Cornwall after 15 full years! Born Hectic Events brings back A Midsummer Night's Dream, a Footsbam Traveling Theatre's production, to the Footsbam Tent this July.

The play is staged at 8 pm on weekends, as well as on Fridays and Saturdays, and at 1 pm on Tuesday the 15th.

There is a provision for refreshments along with encouragement for the disabled to make their appearance. The tickets sell at £16 for adults and £8 for children. They are available for sale at www.crbo.co.uk. Be sure to be there!

The Henry-Lloyd Falmouth week is set to take place in Falmouth from August 9th to 16th. On the 9th will take place Falmouth Bay Events Square Live 2008. Last years Bay Events Square Live was a huge success with the Bunnymen and The Jam and Echo headlining the acts, accompanied by Bluetones and the Badly Drawn Boy.

Fowey Regatta and Carnival week is always very popular due to the superb atmosphere, yacht racing, the red arrows fly by, and hopefully the sunny weather! Organised by the Royal Fowey Yacht club and Gallants Sailing Club, the event will have various yacht and dinghy racing, Falmouth working boats racing, fireworks, and the spectacular red arrows fly by finishing the week with a fireworks display.

Fowey Regatta and Carnival week is always very popular due to the superb atmosphere, yacht racing, the red arrows fly by, and hopefully the sunny weather! Organised by the Royal Fowey Yacht club and Gallants Sailing Club, the event will have various yacht and dinghy racing, Falmouth working boats racing, fireworks, and the spectacular red arrows fly by finishing the week with a fireworks display.

Fowey week is highly regarded in the south west and attracts a good many people and this year it will lead onto the Polruan regatta on the 25th of august
